Hi, I’m Keely, the creator and heart behind Chay. I’m so glad you’re here.
Chay started as a quiet dream in my home kitchen, a space where I could blend my love for cake art with a deep belief that plant-based treats should never feel like a compromise. I wanted to create cakes that are rich in flavour, full of beauty, and made with intention so they can stand proudly beside any others.
My journey began at Le Cordon Bleu in 2018, followed by years of refining my craft in some of Melbourne’s most loved patisseries, including CACAO, Black Star Pastry, Sucre du Jour, and 4me Gluten-free, and Chay is where I pour all of that experience into something more personal.
Together with my partner Nathan, who has been living plant-based for over 15 years, I bring this dream to life. Nathan also plays a special role as our Crave Consultant, helping me perfect flavours and even lending a hand with videos in the kitchen. We named Chay, the Vietnamese word for vegan, as a nod to my heritage and a reflection of everything we believe in: warmth, care, and celebration through food.
At Chay, plant-based cakes are the main event, never just an option or an afterthought. Every cake is handcrafted with care and treated like a little piece of art. They are made to look beautiful, taste incredible, and feel deeply personal, reflecting your moment, your style, and your taste.
